Former Manchester City assistant coach takes over at the King Power Stadium

Maresca has previously managed Parma and served as assistant coach at Manchester City

Enzo Maresca has been appointed Leicester City manager on a three-year deal, the club have announced. The 42-year-old Italian has left his position as Treble-winning Manchester City assistant coach to take over at the King Power Stadium. Maresca's only previous managerial experience came in a short-lived 14-game spell in charge of Parma in 2015. He joined Manchester City's coaching staff in 2019 and has been credited with playing a key role in the club's success under Pep Guardiola. Maresca will now be tasked with rebuilding Leicester City after a disappointing season that saw them finish eighth in the Premier League. The Foxes have also been knocked out of the Champions League and FA Cup, and Maresca will be expected to improve the team's fortunes both domestically and in Europe. Maresca is a highly-rated coach and his appointment is a coup for Leicester City. He is a former Italy international and has a wealth of experience at the top level of the game. Maresca will be looking to make an immediate impact at Leicester City and he will be hoping to guide the club to success in the Premier League and Champions League.
